Affinity Groups
Cockerham & Associates was engaged to examine the opportunity to integrate and unify the efforts of affinity groups in multiple states following an acquisition in the utility industry.

After completing an organization assessment, we made recommendations that included specific strategies for the corporate diversity council that integrated with and provided guidance to each affinity group.

Cockerham & Associated facilitated the creation or refinement of all charters and the development of specific objectives, goals, strategies, metrics and action plans.  We also provided the education for the diversity council and affinity groups to help them perform better as teams.

The result  was greater alignment and performance of affinity groups and enhanced leadership skills among affinity group leaders.


Diversity and Inclusion
Cockerham & Associates was retained to provide a complete assessment of a major financial service company's performance in the area of workplace diversity.

We performed a statistical workforce analysis, reviews of existing programs and extensive interviews of board members, executive staff, professional staff and affinity group leaders.

Working with members of the client's organization, Cockerham & Associates developed a comprehensive strategy that articulated long-range objectives, goals, strategies, metrics and action plans.

The results of our work enabled the client to begin implementation of its diversity and inclusion strategy quickly and with clarity relative to the actions that yielded the greatest impact for the organization.  The engagement also provided the client with guidance relative to resource allocation, education and change management requirements.


Human Resources
Cockerham & Associates was engaged to provide an assessment and specific recommendations related to the Human Resource Function for a professional services client.

The assessment included a review of the strategies for each human resource business unit, interviews with the CEO, members of the board of directors and executive team, business unit presidents and human resource professionals.

Our work assisted the executive responsible for the human resource function to determine its strengths, challenges and level of effectiveness.   Our recommendations were acted upon quickly and brought Human Resources closer to delivering the level of value that its internal clients expected.

The results of our work provided a baseline for the redesign of the Human Resource function and set the parameters for the hiring of a Chief Human Resource Executive.
